DECEMBER 07-08, 2004 - ADD-IT TEAM VISITS SCHOOLS AND MEETS WITH EXTERNAL EVALUATOR

ADD-IT team met with portfolio pilot teachers from Bryant and Mill Creek Elementary School on Dec. 7. On the next day, ADD-IT team met with the external evaluator.

NOVEMBER. 18, 2004 - ADD-IT TEAM VISITS BRYANT

The K-5 version of Foliotek is unveiled! Piloting teachers at Mill Creek and Bryant had their introductory training in use of the system.

NOVEMBER 11, 2004 - TELEPHONE CONFERENCE

The ADD-IT MU team and several members from Independent School District had a telephone conference together and scheduled professional development sessions.

OCTOBER 25, 27, 2004; NOVEMBER 05, 2004 - SMCAA PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS

The Show-Me Curriculum Administrators Association (SMCAA) provided three educational sessions for the University of Missouri's Teacher Development Program students. The Electronic Alignment Tool (EAT), jointly developed by SMCAA and the university's Instructional Materials Laboratory, was demonstrated. OCTOBER 22, 2004 - SYMPOSIUM

The ADD-IT project presented a symposium, "Equity in Student Achievement:
Technology, Assessment, and Committed Partnerships," at the National Network for Educational Renewal Annual Conference in St. Louis., MO. Presenters included Jane Howland, Judy Freeman, Debbie Johnson, Tracey Morton, Suzanne Love, and Jamie Stephens.

SEPTEMBER 24, 2004 - ADD-IT TEAM VISITS ISD

Several members from the ADD-IT MU team visited the Bryant School and the Mill Creek School in Independence. The purpose of the project was discussed. The teachers were given basic training on operating 'documents to go' and using PBL checklists.

AUGUST 02, 2004 - ADD-IT DELIVERS MORE HANDHELDS AT ISD RETREAT

The ADD-IT team delivered handhelds to teachers at the Bryant Retreat held in Columbia at the Reflector. The teachers were given initial training on the basics of operating their handheld.

JUNE 24, 2004 - ADD-IT DELIVERS HANDHELDS TO ISD

The ADD-IT team delivered handhelds to teachers at the Mill Creek School in Independence. The excited teachers received their Sony Clie model TH55 handheld computers and participated in a brief training to introduce them to the basic operations of the camera, audio record and calendar functions. More training on how to use the handheld in conjunction with the Electronic Portfolio system will follow in the fall of 2004.

APRIL 23, 2004 - EA TOOL DEMO

Tony English demonstrated the EA tool for faculty and guests in Townsend Hall. Guests invited were from Independence School District, the College of Education Teacher Development Program and anyone else interested in aligning curriculum with standards.

MARCH 11, 2004 - ELECTRONIC ALIGNMENT TOOL DEMO

Tony English from Show-Me Curriculum Administrators Association demonstrated their electronic alignment tool to several project members. The EA tool is designed to assist school districts in aligning their curriculum with the ShowMe state standards. For more information, see the SMCAA website.

JANUARY 23, 2004 - ADD-IT TEAM VISITS ISD -

Several team members from the ADD-IT MU team met today with representatives from the Independence School District, including teachers and principals for Bryant and Mill Creek Elementary Schools and a district technology coordinator. The purpose of the visit was to discuss the needs of the teachers and the plans for the future.

Plans were made to begin gathering information through the needs assessment, which will include a survey and an interview. The needs assessment will be conducted online and will be facilitated by ISD.
