December 2, 2005 - Foliotek Training at Mill Creek Elementary School

ADD-IT staff visited teachers at Mill Creek Elementary School in Independence, MO for Foliotek training. Eleven teachers will use this electronic system with students through the Winter Semester, 2006.

November 18, 2005 - Foliotek Training for Senior Year On-Site Program (SYOSP) Students

ADD-IT faculty and staff visited SYOSP students in St. Louis, Independence, and Columbia, MO to provide training on the Lanit electronic student portfolio system. Students will use this system along with the ZIRE 72 handhelds for assessment and learning projects during their internships.

November 15, 2005 - ADD-IT Faculty Develop Strategic Planning for Foliotek Use with Mill Creek Elementary School Personnel

Jane Howland met with Chad Sutton, Principal, and Leisa Schroeder, Mentor Teacher, at Mill Creek Elementary School in Independence, MO to develop a strategy for use with their teachers in implementation of the Lanit eportfolio system, Foliotek.

November 7, 2005 - Foliotek and ZIRE 72 Handheld Training Provided to Hallsville Elementary Teachers

ADD-IT faculty and staff provided training on the LANIT K-5 Foliotek system and the ZIRE 72 handhelds to four teachers at Hallsville Elementary School in Hallsville, MO. Each teacher received a ZIRE 72 handheld for their use in the classroom. The handhelds will be used for assessment and collection of electronic artifacts for the Foliotek portfolios teachers will be developing for their students.

October 29, 2005 - National Network for Education Renewal Annual Conference

Jane Howland, ADD-IT Project Director, and Sarah Hage, Teaching Fellow from Rockbridge Elementary School, Columbia, MO co-presented at the National Network for Educational Renewal Annual Conference in Myrtle Beach, SC on October 29, 2005. The presentation was titled, "Authentic Partnerships: Linking College of Education Partner Schools and PT3 Grant to Advance Democratic Education." ADD-IT initiatives were presented in the context of the partnerships between College of Education's Teacher Development Program, Teaching Fellows Program and public schools in the MU Partnership for Educational Renewal.

September 15, 2005 - ZIRE 72 Handhelds Provided to Senior Year On-Site Program (SYOSP) Students

ADD-IT staff assigned Zire 72 handhelds to 96 SYOSP students. Training was provided to five classes in the Columbia, St. Louis and Independence area. Students will retain the handhelds for collection of assessment and portfolio artifacts during their final internship semester.

August 16, 2005 -Foliotek Training at Shepard Boulevard Elementary School, Columbia, MO

ADD-IT and LANIT staff visited teachers at Shepard Boulevard Elementary School in Columbia, MO for Foliotek training. Six 4th and 5th grade teachers will use this electronic portfolio system with students through the coming year. All students in these six classrooms also have Palm Tungsten handhelds that are used for a variety of learning activities.

August 15, 2005 - Foliotek Training at Hallsville Elementary School, Hallsville, MO

ADD-IT and LANIT staff visited teachers at Hallsville Elementary School in Hallsville, MO for Foliotek training. Teachers will use this electronic portfolio system with students throughout the coming year.

March 23, 2005 - Professional Development Session at Mill Creek Elementary School, Independence, MO

On March 23, 2005, a four hour professional development session on "Inquiry-Based Lessons in the Technology-Rich Classroom" was held at Mill Creek Elementary School. Twenty-seven teachers participated in this interactive session led by eMINTS trainers Roxanna Kerwood and Brooke Higgins.

March 1, 2005 - ADD-IT Team Presents the Project at PT3 Grantee Meeting in Phoenix, AZ

Jane Howland and Judy Freeman presented "Advancing Student Achievement through Data-driven and Instructional Technology (PT3 ADD-IT)" on March 1, 2005 at the PT3 Grantee Meeting in Phoenix, AZ. The presentation was offered again on March 3 for the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education International Conference (SITE). Also presenting at SITE was Chris Miller from LANIT, and ADD-IT consortium partner. Chris shared information about Foliotek, LANIT's electronic portfolio system. LANIT is developing a K-12 version of Foliotek as part of the ADD-IT project.

January 18, 2005 - Follow Up Training

Piloting teachers at Mill Creek and Bryant Elementary Schools in Independence received follow-up training in the use of the Foliotek system.
