July 10-11, 2007 - ADD-IT FUNDS THREE TEACHERS FROM HALLSVILLE TO ATTEND THE FIFTH ANNUAL TECHNOLOGY INNOVATIONS/HANDHELD COMPUTER CONFERENCE AT TAN-TAR-A, LAKE OZARKS, MO.

Teachers will gain hands-on experience in blogging, handhelds, webquests and podcasting as well as other technology explorations.

JUNE, 25-27, 2007 ADD-IT FACULTY PRESENT AT NECC IN ATLANTA, GA

Dr. Jane Howland and Dr. Judy Freeman attended the National Educational
Computing Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, where they presented "Using Technology to Support Complex Thinking and
Reflective Learners." Information and results of Foliotek and handheld use were shared.

JUNE, 2007 ADD-IT FACULTY WORK WITH 83 TEACHING FELLOWS

ADD-IT provided all 2007-08 MU Teaching Fellows access to the eThemes request service, a resource for eMINTS teachers (http://emints.org) and assisted the students with online professional development used by eMINTS teachers as they learn about effective use of technology for learning and assessment.

JUNE, 2007 ADD-IT PROVIDES CONTINUING FOLIOTEK TO TEACHERS FOR 2007-2008

ADD-IT staff worked with LANIT Corp. to develop a continuing research and development plan between LANIT and partner schools. Teachers at Hallsville Elementary School in Hallsville, Missouri and Mill Creek Elementary School in Independence, Missouri, will have an opportunity to continue using the Foliotek electronic portfolio system during the 2007-2008 school year in an effort to further refine Foliotek and provide technology based portfolios for students in second through fourth grades.

MAY, 2007 ADD-IT PROVIDES HANDHELDS TO MILL CREEK SCHOOL FOR CLASSROOM PROJECTS

ADD-IT provided fifteen Zire 72 handhelds to Mill Creek Elementary for use with their students. Mill Creek plans to collaborate with ADD-IT’s other partner school, Hallsville Elementary, to gain insight for uses of the handhelds.

MAY, 2007 ADD-IT STAFF INTERVIEW STUDENTS FROM PARTNER SCHOOLS

ADD-IT staff interviewed 29 Students from Mill Creek Elementary and Hallsville Elementary schools. Students were in grades 3-5 and had been interviewed in November, 2006, regarding their perceptions of using technology for learning and self-assessment.

APRIL, 2007 ADD-IT FACULTY ATTEND AERA CONFERENCE

Dr. Jane Howland and Dr. Judy Freeman attended the American Educational Research Association Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL and presented a paper entitled, “Technology Tools for Student Assessment: Pre-service Teachers’ Knowledge, Beliefs, and Assessment Practices in a Senior Year On-Site Program”.

MARCH, 2007 ADD-IT FACULTY ATTEND SITE CONFERENCE.

Dr. Jane Howland and Dr. Judy Freemen attended the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education conference in San Antonio , TX and presented a paper entitled, “Pre-service Teachers’ Use of Advanced Technology for Student Assessment in a Senior Year On-Site Program.”

February 2007 - HANDHELDS PROVIDED TO HALLSVILLE ELEMENTARY FOR USE IN ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL CLASSES

Eighty-four Zire 72 handhelds, 31 Tungsten E2 handhelds, 3 TX handhelds, 15 handheld keyboards and 38 Clie handhelds were provided to Hallsville Elementary School for use by teachers and students from grades 3 through 8. Students will use their handhelds for projects, presentations, and uploading artifacts to their electronic portfolios.
